Timothy Oulton Monastery Dining Table
Inspired by ancient refectory tables. The base is formed from strong and sturdy century-old oak, salvaged from the beams and floorboards of traditional Chinese homes. The timber has an authentically distressed patina, rife with the character that only weathering and age can bring. Cracks, knots, splits, and nail holes are preserved, a testament to the wood’s seasoned past. Handcrafted using enduring mortise and tenon joinery, a technique that has been used in woodwork for thousands of years.
A natural stone top comes in a choice of distressed Bluemoon marble, black marble, or white marble. Both the black marble and white marble tops feature hand-chiselled vertical lines along the edge.
Timber: Dark Aged Oak
Bluemoon – Bluemoon marble is distinctive for its earthy layers of deep browns, greys, blues and greens that run right the way through the stone. Marble is an entirely natural material, no two slabs will ever look the same, and the colours will also change under different light sources. Our Bluemoon marble tabletops are lovingly hand-distressed for a rugged aesthetic and make the whole table feel like a well-worn, aged piece. We sand the stone, chisel it, and then finally polish it to create a wonderfully tactile, pitted effect on the surface of the tabletop.
